Ok so this is admittedly the most pathetic year of the Neon to date...sad. I personally blame facebook. Oh and the crapload of other stuff like Chemistry (grrr) that is always going on. Still I thought I'd post an effort.

So...this is a summary of the highlight of my week:

Drive 3 hours to Saratoga starting at 9:00
Go to the Hot Springs
Hit a deer (poor Bambi...we tried not to but when it came down to it we were going to either graze it or hit it completely...the stupid thing jumped right infront of the car...)
Almost rolled the Jeep
Drove home 3 hours in 15 degree weather without a heater
scrape ice off the inside and outside of the car
get home at 500 in the morning to get up at 7

Soooo anyone else?

Oh and are ya'll coming home for thanksgiving. I am soooooo ready!

I'm just so far gone

that I don't' know what planet I'm on...

anyways! how are classes going for everybody? Mine are ok, spent most of today after I got out of class attempting to do my Chemistry homework- it's an online thing. It actually wasn't too bad once I got into the right frame of mind. I was freaking out for the first week or so because my mathematical/scientific brain seemed to have shut down for a bit. But it was on today! haha. ummm... that's the only class that I know I'm going to have to teach myself the stuff if I want to do well on the tests. Spanish is scary because there's lots of talking, but it's ok. The kid in front of me in that class is from San Antonio and he reminds me of so many of the guys back home. it maked me laugh. anywho... making lots of friends? tomorrow is the deadline my roommates and I set for each other to each have at least one friend. and I'm not gonna lie, but I'm pretty sure I'm winning that game.

hahahaha. so, how goes college? BRITT?! are you ALIVE?!

oh snap

haha i just noticed the title change. nice. so yeah...i was just thinking how fast this neon summer went...i mean seriously. ugh i miss it so much. i never thought of myself as a summer person because i prefer the cold...but there's just something about summer that seems so magical. haha ok ok i know..LAME. whatever. there's a sad slow song playing on the radio and it's nighttime and i'm sitting here alone while my laundry is probably being shruken or stolen or both down in the base(ment) and i was just thinking how much i missed summer. and austin. and friends and family. i cannot wait to go back! i guess thats part of the fun of going away--the feeling of getting to go back. only 82 more days lol. anywho my laundry is somewhat almost done. and i should be doing my env. hist. reading...but that class doesnt meet again til monday. sooooo yeah.

we have the Suite Life

in Chicago right now! the flight was ok... we had to stop in Nashville first, but we had to stay on the plane because it was the same plane going on to Chicago. we got there 25 minutes early so we had to wait even longer, which was aggravating! anywho... we got to Chicago and got our luggage and attempted to drive to the hotel. we got downtown in about 15 minutes and spent about 45 driving around in circles because there are lots of confusing one-way streets. then we went to dinner on the 4th floor (very hot waiter guy+fabulous wedge salad= yay!) and then I came back up here while my mom went to a Marc Anthony concert. hahaha... yeah... been eating lots of yummy cheese and crackers (yes, with lemon juice) as well as corn nuts... yeah, and we have free internet! WOO!

p.s. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory blows! Umpa Lumpas = terrifying!

GOOD LUCK

Hey Alexa....

Just wanted to give you a big happy send off post before you leave (even though your comp is probably all packed up) Let us know how everything goes when you get there! When do you move in? Good luck girl...

:-D

BDU's

So Wade came and picked me up in his BDU's yesterday (Battle dress uniforms---camo stuff) Its really odd to see him in them. Kinda puts a whole new twist on war and stuff....I dono. But let me tell you what....uniforms are amazing. :-D Thats right my boyfriend looks amazing in uniform. I'll post picts if I can ever find my usb cord.

oh my God, a three-headed dog!

oh yeah! Harry and the Potters are freaking awesome. Just thought I'd mention it.

it was actually a pretty large crowd (you know, considering it's a band called Harry and the Potters). Draco and the Malfoys opened for them- best song lyric: "my dad is rich and your dad is dead"- it was pretty catchy. I got another shirt because I seem to wear the one I bought last time they were here at least 2-3 times a week. YAY! And of course I got it autographed...

I may be putting up a slightly disturbing picture up on facebook of me and the two Harrys. or maybe not.

p.s. BRITTANY: Get a Facebook!!!

foiled!

why no more posting on here? me sad...

anyone else hate terrorists as much as I do?

con artists?

so I'm leaving on Saturday... ahhhh!!!

I had lunch with my cousin Daniel today. He lives in College Station but was in town because he's getting a new job and may have to relocate down here. It was nice and now i'm reeeeeallly full. I'm sad because I have to miss my cousin Michael's wedding in September and everyone else is going (it's in Houston). He's the first cousin to be getting married on my dad's side.

anywho... Harry and the Potters tomorrow at 6pm at that little park next to the Public Library downtown. Be there.

Outsourcing Jobs...

There's nothing quite like calling DELL and talking to three different people who kept on transfering me to other people, all of whom claimed to be named things like Daniel and Lola even though they so obviously don't have those names at all. How do I know this? Well... they're all pretty Indian sounding to me. I could barely understand Lola, although she was very nice... They were all pretty nice, just not very understandable. And I really didn't get the help I was looking for.

I thought DELL was stationed in Austin. Hmmm...

um

what????

haha that was for you, alexa!

I Propose...

hey Amy (and Britt, if you're interested)... are you busy on Saturday night? Jerrett is in a play called Proposals at St. Ed's that we should go see. I need someone to see it with me, so yeah. It's at 7:30pm on Saturday. Please let me know if you can make it!

I think Kathleen F. might be in it, too..?
that blues thing sounds fun! i'm up for it. i love summer nights outside! it's been pretty nice the past couple nights. oh yeah and the official verdict is: corey and i are going to try and work it out. haha surprise, surprise. guess we'll see what happens!

Wednesday, July 26, 2006

I heart the Blues!

hey Britt (and Amy)! If you're not busy next Wednesday I'm trying to get a group together to go to Blues on the Green at Zilker. It's Guy Forsyth and Carolyn Wonderland this time around- I'm actually a fan of Guy's so this should be pretty good. It was supposed to be tonight but was post-poned which works well for me because now I have time to invite people!

anyways, just let me know!

Tuesday, July 25, 2006

there was so much on my mind last night. i couldnt sleep. it was 2 am and i felt wide awake. and so all night and on through pretty much all of today i just felt weird. and grumpy...hehe. my heart felt too full. like it might just explode from all the emotions it was holding. this college thing is starting to get to me--it's more real every day. i cannot for the life of me imagine saying goodbye to people. i know it's not forever, but still. i need to see people again, talk to them. i'm actually feeling a little better as of now. i'm really hoping i can get some sleep tonight.

Monday, July 24, 2006

finally

i have a room! and a roommate! i'm not homeless! (it was beginning to seem like a very real possibility). her name is rachael martinez. she's a freshman like me and we're in Mulledy Hall. other than that i know nothing--'cause i looked it up online, i havent actually gotten anything in the mail yet, but it's supposed to be coming soon. woooo! i cant find her on facebook :( so i have no idea what she's like yet but i'm excited! i really hope we get along

strike

so I've been thinking... if there were some way for us all to be free at the same time that we could go eat and then bowl (or vice versa) or whatever... or we could eat/chill at someone's house or something...

I would like to see Britt and Danika and Erica (and Britt could bring Nichole) and of course me and Amy. It would be a fun time. If it were somehow possible!

fuck cancer

Thursday, July 13, 2006

oh wudong!

so I had to get up early(-ish) yesterday to go and take something to some lady at my mother's office (because my mom is in Puerto Rico) and as I was driving there I passed City Hall and saw that these Chinese monks wers setting up to perform something... so after I dropped the thing off at my mom's work I decided to go and watch the Chinese monks! I had seen them blessing Barton Springs on the news the night before and really wanted to see them, so it was perfect! they played some awesome music and then these other monks did a whole bunch of martial arts stuff (which was sooo cool)... I had a great seat (and despite the heat) all was good!

then I got home because UPS was supposed to deliver my laptop between 2 and 5 so I was going to take a shower right away but got distracted by a tv show (yes, a Disney one) and at 1:20 the doorbell rings and it was the UPS guy with my laptop! thank goodness I hadn't decided to shower- I would have missed it! yeah... anywho... the screen is fabulous and it's got wireless internet. my dad was considering buying a wireless thing for our house but one of our neighbors apparently has it already and has it unlocked (meaning anyone can use it) so hahahaha... I've been using that.

went shopping at Central Market later that day. saw Jessica M. working there! is she going to UT or what? I didn't see her till I was already getting checked out so I couldn't go to her lane... and of course I forgot the lemons for my pasta! so I had to run to HEB and get them... I was hardcore cooking last night! hahahaha yeah... Sneedy was over and we ended up watching Sky High- which, by the way, rocks!... I then started reading Harry Potter 6 out loud, which is not as easy as it would seem! I now have major respect for the awesome guy who does the audio books...

pants = love, love your friends, love yourself

haha, ok, so yesterday I got up freaking early because i had an interview at Target. I put on a skirt and realized "oh hey! I haven't shaved me legs in forever!" so I had to shave them, which was not a happy experience. then I got to Target a few minutes early and got sent to sit in the break room, which was relatively entertaining because everyone was tired/annoyed. ah work. not that I would know! anywho... this other guy who was supposed to come in half an hour after me was there at the same time so the person at the desk kept radio-ing frantically to find interviewers (I know, I could hear the radios on the people in the break room) it was slightly awkward cause the workers would look at us and haha yeah... then a lady came in and called me for my interview and we went into some office. the first thing she asks me? "what are you doing in the fall?" me: HAHAAHAHAHAAA... well, not really, but I had to tell her I was going to college and when she inquired as to where I replied, "Indiana"... yeah, so she didn't even interview me! I got up and shaved my legs for NOTHING! lame!!! haha yeah...

then Ana came over at about 11. we then proceeded to watch Kyle XY (because we are the coolest people EVER) and then went to bake some cookies, which would seem a simple enough task as we were using one of those packages mixes... when I looked and saw that it needed "one stick of butter" I checked the fridge and found some margerine. when we went to mix it in however, it looked a freakish color and so we searched the package for an expiration date and couldn't really find one (although I have the feeling it expired sometime in 2003). so we drove down to the Albertson's that's shutting down and got some butter (it was quite a bargain!).. we thought we had allowed it to "soften" enough but when we tried to mix it with the egg it got all freaky and barf-ish looking. hahahaha. so we let that sit while we watched Days of Our Lives. then we tried to mix it again and it kind of worked so we just added the cookie mix. hahahaha.... if you ask me, the cookies turned out wonderfully! they were just a lot of work is all...

we ended up watching The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, which- by the way, is a GREAT movie! I love that story so much... we need to get together and watch it, guys! we can do it at my house if you want... we can even bake some cookies! I have real un-expired butter now!
hey guys we need to get together soon! i miss y'all. movies, food, swimming, bowling, SOMETHING! it's already july. :P

meow?

Jasmine update!

um... she's doing alright. I took her to the vet this morning and she got an anti-inflammatory shot and then I got some ear drops I'm supposed to give her every day. If there isn't any progress in the next week I have to take her back and we do all of the x-rays and stuff. I really hope she's gets better!

The Luckiest Girl Alive

I'm definately the luckiest girl alive....I got another letter today from the best basic at the entire Air Force Academy! He's doing well. *Happy dance* Ok so you know the blues clues mail wag the tail dance...definately did that today!

Sunday, July 09, 2006

...

oh God.

I'm not going to sleep tonight. I'm so freaking worried.

I refuse to cry.

The vet told me not to get upset. The vet who is the sweetest guy ever. The one who told me that the next time my cat wakes me up at 2:30 in the morning that I should just have a beer, cause that's a good thing to do at 2:30 in the morning. Like in Spain, he said. People do that all the time in Spain. Perhaps my cat is Spanish.

Wow.

Saturday, July 08, 2006

look- an undead monkey!

so I think I will attempt to sleep now. As I would very much like to be in a coherant state of mind when Germany whoops Portugal tomorrow (HECK YES! I GET TO SEE BALLACK and PODOLSKI and KLOSE one more time!!!). I'm kind of really sad about it. I LOVE this German team. Just as much as I love my American boys. The Brits are really close to that- almost.

so I was babysitting tonight. I got there at 8:30 and they left at 9:40. wow. I sat in the kitchen and talked to Erika (the mother) for that long because her husband was trying to get their 2-year-old to freaking go to sleep in her new toddler bed thing. Apparently the problem is she can get out of her bed now. damn. she loves to scream bloody murder when her parents aren't in her site. eventually they just locked her in there. poor older sister had to sleep in her brother's room. :-/

it was really awkward for me cause the dad came down and was really mad. and he's usually the happy-go-lucky one. it really freaked me out. parenting is hard shit and I don't think many people really have any idea what they're doing. seriously. having kids is going to be so tough. how do you know how to discipline them, but also allow them to grow and discover the world. how do you not over-protect them? how do you know how to get them to work hard in school or what extra curriculars to put them in? geez. ok. not having kids over here.

sorry for the ranting. once again, Erika made me a pot of coffee and I drank the whole thing. yay for being wired at 2:47 in the morning! good thing: it's Friday! or it was when I was babysitting. that means that all of my favorite late night shows were on (ie. Numbers,That 70s Show,Malcolm,Conan) as opposed to the really bad television programming that can be seen on Saturday nights.

I even managed to get quite a bit of reading done. oh, Harry Potter, the Half Blood Prince is SNAPE. there! I just gave it away to Harry. HA!

p.s. I love the raging hormones in the halls of Hogwarts.

Friday, July 07, 2006

Send one back here to you

Wade sent me a letter. It made my day.

...savy?

Pirates (of the Caribbean) was goooooood. ok during the movie my butt was really uncomfortable so it seemed to last foreverrrrr but looking back on it, it was such a good movie. :) definitely gonna go see it again. i love johnny depp. duh... who doesnt? he's just so damn good. and sexy. and pirate-y. and gotta love the ultra cool people that dressed up! where do people get such piratey clothes?

4th Libro - es el final tambien!

psst!!!! Amazon.com has this to say:

Forever in Blue: The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood (Sisterhood of Traveling Pants)
by Ann Brashares

Book Description
With unraveled embroidery and fraying hems, the Traveling Pants are back for one last, glorious summer.

Lena: Immerses herself in her painting and an intoxicating summer fling, fearing that the moment she forgets about Kostos will be the moment she sees him again.

Carmen: Falls under the spell of a sophisticated college friend for whom a theatrical role means everything and the heritage of the Pants means nothing.

Bridget: Joins a dig for an ancient city on the coast of Turkey and discovers that her archaeology professor is available in every way except one.

Tibby: Leaves behind someone she loves, wrongly believing he will stay where she has left him.

Join Ann Brashares's beloved sisterhood once again in a dazzling, fearless novel. It's a summer that will forever change the lives of Lena, Carmen, Bee, and Tibby, here and now, past and future, together and apart.

I'm crazy. OMG AMY! did you see That 70s Show at 11:30 last night?! It was totally a Christmas episode!!! haha! right after we were talking about Christmas... yeah...

and my dad said that the fireworks looked just as smokey on tv... I think it was the moisture in the air that held the smoke in place... mhm! AND the news people were talking about how the lightning was cooler than the fireworks! yeah... I knew all about it!

p.s. my iPod is playing me a High School Musical song right now. oh yessss!
i'm going to get tickets for pirates of the caribbean today. britt-- are u coming?? haha if u dont read/respond to this by the time i go get the tickets i'll call you. it's at the theater across from barton creek mall by the way :)

Saturday, July 01, 2006

owwww

oh. my. God.

I feel like there's some sort of evil alien eating me from the inside out. yes, there is something in my stomach eating my insides.

ewwww. that sounds gross. but that's how it feels!

yesssssssssssss

from the Germany vs. Argentina game yesterday... I'll put a couple more up when my computer feels like cooperating.

my two boys! Klose and Podolski right after Klose scored to tie it up

I just though this was cool looking

but maybe we're crazy

alright so while I'm waiting for the England vs. Portugal game I'll write on going to Six Flags w/ Corey on thursday. we got there a little after 10:00 and the first thing we did was....ride the Rattler. alright-- so we all went to Six Flags in Dallas 7th grade and I know Alexa knows how much of a wimp I am. I dont think you were in our group were you Britt? you were probably in a braver group. haha. anyways-- so yeah I've never been on the Rattler. Corey made us ride in the very front. It was weird but I was actually very calm all the way up the huge hill...then we went over and I screamed bloody murder. (yeah I was definitely hoarse the following day) the tunnel on that one is awesome too. I've never had that much fun at Six Flags before though...mostly b/c before I was always too afraid to ride any of the cool coasters. We went on the Superman coaster 3 times--i think that one was my favorite. it was floorless so I got to ride barefoot since I didnt want to lose my flip flops (p.s. the Superman figure is no longer on top of that one loop) we did the Poltergeist twice--that was a crazy one. Corey tried to distract me while we were waiting b/c the train goes from just sitting there in the station to shooting out at 60 mph. but I definitely looked over at the wrong moment and saw it go. haha it was soooooo fun though. my least favorite ride was the Scream. I just hate the way it hovers at the top...because being afraid of heights- I dont want to be stuck at that altitude for very long. but it wasnt that bad. we also did the waterpark and went to that one new ride with the big funnel the Tornado (that's not the one in San Antonio but it's the best pic of the funnel that I could find.) we definitely stayed for the fireworks at the end. they played the deep in the heart of Texas song and the whole crowd was definitely clapping and yelling "deep in the heart of Texas!" (who actually knows all the verses besides "the stars are bright..." ???) haha omg Alexa at one point they were going over some of the towns/cities of Tx and they were doing Houston and combining Nasa with cowboys only means one thing: they played that one *N Sync song-- "take a space ride with a cowboy baby!" and yes I did sing along. proudly. hahahaha. everything was awesome. even the weather. it didnt get too hot--and we were actually freezing when we got out of the waterpark b/c of the breeze. yeah. it was a reeeeeeeeally long day...and even though i was completely exhausted when i got home i had a little trouble falling asleep b/c every time i closed my eyes i would see the roller coasters and feel like i was still moving/ about to drop 100 feet down. hehe. I'm still kinda hurting all over (my arms and legs are sore from clinging on to dear life on the coasters). I'm covered in mosquito bites...that may have been from laying in the grass at Six Flags or from the day before when I was hanging with him at some pond. I'm guessing the latter...'cause i definitely rememeber seeing a billion mosquitos there. anyways-- we girls should definitely go!! save up some coupons on dr. pepper cans. haha. :)

don't go stepping on my homeboy!

so the Germany vs. Argentina game today was AMAZING! it was one of my favorites of the World Cup thus far- both teams pushed and pushed and it was completely nerve-wracking. when Argentina scored first in the beginning of the second half I was so worried that Germany wouldn't be able to bounce back, but they did! Dave and Marcelo had mentioned at the beginning of the game that Germany is most dangerous in the first 15 minutes and the last 15 minutes of the game and they weren't wrong! Germany scored around the 80th minute to tie the game 1 to 1. they then engaged in 30 minutes of grueling overtime (Ballack, the German captain, completely cramped up and had to stop playing for a while, but they couldn't trade him out cause they had used all of their subs!). after the 30 minutes of scoreless overtime it went to penalty kicks. Germany got one, Argentina got one, Germany got another, Argentina got another, Germany got yet another, and then... Argentina missed! GERMANY WON!!!! WOOOOO YEAH!!!!!! it's out of five and Argentina couldn't make up the difference... it was soooo awesome! and then, apparently, some Argentinian player stepped on a German one and all of the sudden there was quite a rucus on the field... I have nooo idea what was going on- lots of angry shoving and yelling... yeah... then they calmed down. it was weird.

it was moving when I saw a couple of the Argentina guys crying and the Germans so happy. yeah, I may have shed a tiny little tear. :-P

it was cute when the Germans kept on celebrating. they all lined up and one of them went out pretending to be bowling and they all fell over like pins... it was... interesting...

and you should see how they dance. hahahahahaaaaa! it was sooooo funny/cute!

"Well... I guess that's the Germans trying to be funny... it doesn't work..."-Eric Wynalda (after seeing that weird bowling thingy)

Death to Harry!?!?!

Ugh...so I was reading on fox news today and JK Rowling was talking about how she plans on killing 2 main characters in the final book. Well seeing as how there are three really main characters...hmmmm Harry, Ron, & Hermione's chances of survival aren't that great. True, thre are other big characters but they're it.

Here check it out!

Any predictions on the final book?
Oh and when is it coming out...or is that still..."not confirmed"

Mexico Mexico rah rah rah!

did anyone else catch the Mexico vs. Argentina game just a while ago? it was soooo awesome! I so badly wanted Mexico to win though, and they were so close... it was crazy at the end because some of them had been playing for over 2 hours straight and you could see how insanely worn out they were... imagine running as fast as possible for 2 hours... and a couple of the guys are, like, 18 and 19 years old (just like us! well, except for Britt... haha!)... ah well, now I'm rooting for Germany. and England. woo!

p.s. my German guy (#20) Podalski totally scored the two goals in the Germany vs. Sweden game this morning. Klose and Podalski = my dream team. Aren't they the two Polish guys on the German team? heehee. Oh yeah. I'll put some pics up lata!

don't miss England tomorrow morning on ABC at 10! or Univision of course.

my Donovan

eh-I figured we could use something to cheet us up... here are some nice pics of Landon.

Thursday, June 22, 2006

oh say can you see

well, we fought for it... I'm not too disappointed in my boys... I love them too much.

right after Dempsey (#8 in the middle) scored the US goal

when some evil Ghana player hurt our team captain (Claudio Reyna)- he had to be carried off on a strecher... he's never missed any part of a World Cup match before

before the game, during the national anthem

they can jump quite high...

I'm Back

sorry guys...I went to register for classes in Wyoming...so I guess I really did fall off the face of the earth. It was fun though...we had orientation activities (wooo) and all that other fun stuff....but hey i have my class shedule figured out. I still need to find out who my roommate is....do ya'll know yet? Currently I don't have one but thats ok b/c they lost some of the housing requests so theres a lot more coming in. lets shee....what else....hmmmm.....

Oh yes...lol duh...rascal flats. It was really fun...Wade and I went to San Antonio early and ate at teh Hard Rock (one of the best places ever) and then we went to the river walk and walked around (hence the name river walk) then we went to the concert which was super cool. From our seats you could see really well but unfortunaltely my camera only has 3x zoom so the pictures didn't work :-( but hey...it was still a blast!!! Oh yes and Wade definately wore a black cowboy hat (which he actually wears for for real purposes) so that was definately a plus...if I ever figure out how to work my camera you'll see why. Then we went home (at like 2:00 ouch) Now hes gone. I'll see/hear from him in August. But its ok he can still get letters.

So yeah theres the whole day in a nutshell (well actually two days because we didn't get to my house until ungodly hours in the morning...I hate staying up late)

So0o0o0o0 ANYWAY....hows life going for ya'll???

where oh where?

*wonders if Brittany has died. or if she has gone off to a magical wizarding world without me.*

how rude!

Tuesday, June 20, 2006

I'm still kinda sad at the England game today. they were soooooo close to winning. i mean, tying is obviously better than flat-out losing...but we were so close! and my poor Rooney...didnt seem quite up to par. no one did actually. *coughBeckhamcough* haha but I had fun anyways. lstening to commentary on hips being off-sides and billowy shorts?...and Rooney needing "fitness" :) ...and awkward hugs after goal scoring.

give me that which I desire

i finally went through and picked out courses for my first semester. i only had to pick out 4 and that seriously took almost 3 hours. it was ridiculous. and the schedule i have written out is if i manage to get all my first picks. i havent made the alternate decision schedules yet. i dont even wanna think about it...it's such a headache!!!! i'm actually reeeeally hoping i get all my first picks--it sounds like my first semester could be really FUN. wanna know what it's looking like? ok so here are the courses I picked: Modern Dance, Italian, Philosophy, and Environmental History. I'm still slightly on the fence about whether to take Italian or Spanish (for travel abroad in the 3rd year you're supposed to take 2 years of the language of the country you're going to if they dont speak English. I really wanna finally learn Spanish but I really want to go to Italy...but Spain is also cool. so yeah I dunno). so most of my classes are Monday and Wednesday. and I have 1 class on Friday. from 8:00-8:50am (one of the two weekly Italian Practicums) soooooo i'm really hoping I can keep this schedule. because a) it took 3 hours to figure out and b) it's pretty kick ass :P

red card insanity

wow. did anyone else see the US game yesterday? it was insane! that ref is a freaking moron- he's been suspended from refereeing before! I can't believe they gave him to us... I think it was on purpose- cause everyone hates the US! hahaha... well, it was such a good game on the US side... we had nine men on the field to Italy's ten (after three red cards) and we still held our own. it was fantastic.

and I am now proud of my US team again. thanks for the effort, guys! one thing: Bruce, buddy, you really should've put in Eddie Johnson in the last ten minutes. I really think we could've won that way. Julie and Eric agree with me, so there!

Saturday, June 17, 2006

uh oh...

I can't watch!!! The US is about to play Italy...

AHHHHH!!!!!

COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brasil!

so this morning I was leaving my mom's house to come to dad's to watch the games on cable. I pull out of the garage and I had my windows down because I always have them down in the mornings. There were these two worker guys putting down grass in the yard next door (cause the owner is redoing the entire thing and then trying to sell) and they look over and see me wearing a soccer jersey (England) and the one guy is like "Brasil!!" and I'm like "England!!"... I guess he's going for Brasil... though I highly doubt they'll win... hahaha.

it was fun. that's why I like immigrants, they know soccer is awesome!

no more broken foot

hey, Britt! I think that England star Wayne Rooney looks a lot like a certain HP character that you are in love with *coughSeamuscough* - but you must contain yourself because apparently Amy is going to marry him!

**also from the fifa world cup site
'twas quite an exciting game! I was disappointed that Crouch didn't do his dance when he scored, though! how dare he deprive me of his awesome robot moves?! hahahaha...

so this is pretty hot

***from the FIFA World Cup site

and YES...England won!!! after finally scoring 2 (yes, TWO) goals in the second half. soooooo good. they did only have possession of the ball 70% of the time! haha.

Boruc is on fire!

I feel that I must mention how exciting the Poland vs. Germany game was! Wow! Yeah... Germany finally scored in the 91st minute of the game (yes, in stoppage time). The Polish goal keeper (Boruc) was soooooo good. Omg. And he was so beautiful. It was so crazy when the Germans shot the ball, like, three times in a row and it didn't go in... fantastic...

mmm tasty!

yesterday's soccer players of the day (in Alexa's tasteful opinion... some soccer talent helps a little bit)

#23 in the back left side of the picture

Kaka scored Brazil's only goal. This is the most popular picture today.

boosh!

so I'm trying to put together my class schedule for next year. it is quite scary because I have noooo idea what I'm doing or what these classes are going to be like. special thanks to Mr. Shakespeare (yay AP English III!) for getting me out of that required Freshman Composition class (it sounds soooo aweful! and I don't have to take it woo!). I'm also quite surprised that I get to start off in Intermediate Spanish- I got a 520 (out of 800) on my SATII and get to place out of two Spanish classes. and I thought that score was aweful- ha! I didn't even have to suffer through any AP Spanish classes to place out... how exciting!

lovin it

I love camp! Seriously nothing is cooler than hanging out w/ 3rd and 4th graders and telling them that Jesus loves them. These past couple of weeks God has really been showing me that I have so much more than anything the world has to offer. Everything the world offers is like nothing compared to the joy of hanging out with Jesus. It is truly incredible how beautiful life is when you realize that God is where joy is. Anyway...I just wanted to share that because wow...God has been so good to me.

"quite disheartening"

Claudio Reyna, team captain, after the game.
(Mark J.Terrill/Associated Press)

no words to describe the aweful dissapointment I felt while watching the US get ripped apart by the Czech Republic. seriously. it looked like they weren't even trying! where the heck was Landon? where was Beasley? come on!!!

the ESPN announcer people were as shocked as me! the one guy was just ripping on what a sad effort it was on the American team's part for a really long time...

time to get over it. and win against Italia. oh goody.

camp

dude im so excited...I get to help w/ a church camp this week. I'm really excited....I don't care what I'm doing but I get to work this camp and yeah...its just exciting! *happy dance*

How are the job searches coming?

Friday, June 09, 2006

ole! ole! celebrate today!

it's started!!!

actually, tis halftime of the opening game: Germany vs. Costa Rica.

current score: Germany 2, Costa Rica 1

I'm going for Germany, of course, due to my intense German pride. haha... well, all my German relatives were just in town and my dad's all excited cause he was recently in Munich. Germans know how to party! The "opening ceremonies"-type thing was awesome! heck yesssssss!

oh this is soooo much fun!

and ESPN isn't interrupting with commercials! I'm so pleased!

I find it interesting that a good number of teams (Germany, England, US) each have some of their best players with injuries at the moment. One of Germany's best is on the bench this game because of some injury he got last week. England's nursing their guy back to health and supposedly Claudio Reyna is going to play on Monday (for the US) despite his hamstring injury. He's really good and was team captain four years ago. I'm not actually sure who's captain this year (along with Donovan, I think he's co-captains with somebody). It's ok if you're not reading this. Oh wait, no it's not! You should read everything I say with mucho interest!!!

buzz buzz buzz

so there's this little bug that has apparently taken up residence on my computer monitor. it was here last night and it's still her tonight. I don't really mind. It's just a little flying thing that's not bothering me. Just surprising that it's still here...

I find it quite cute. Hi, little bug!

I should name him! How about... DeMarcus? Yeah, that's a good name...

Hi, little DeMarcus! How are yoooouuuu?!

Everyone say hi!!!

arriba! arriba!

it's

WORLD CUP TIME

biz-atch!!

yeah, I obviously can't sleep. How do the players do it?!

today we kick off the tournament with Germany vs. Coasta Rica at 11am on ESPN2
then another game at 2pm on ESPN2 with Poland vs. Ecuador

~the US's first game is on MONDAY~ at which point we will see Landon Donovan unleashing his furey on the world. or at least the Czech Republic.

listen to the radio

I have an interview! On Saturday morning for this ice cream place that isn't open yet down at the end of this road next to my dad's house in all of that new shopping center area...

yeah...

wish me luck!

you're not the boss of me now

no calls from anyone! no one wants to hire Alexa.. how sad!

just annoying because my parents keep bugging me about it.

ugh!

summer lovin'

You know guys...I was just thinking...we are kind of like the sisterhood of the traveling pants in some ways. 'cause in the book they always used the pants to connect them because they spent their summers apart but for us it's more like this blog connects us as we come together every summer. awww...come on, get sentimental with me! :)

hola

hola amigas....not much goin on lately...just hanging out working. I worked 10 hours today..I'm starting to look really dark and kinda freckly. odd. otherwise not much. Oh so about the world cup....I read today in the paper that Germany hosts the largest legal prostitution ring and that the world cup has attracted an even greater amount of prostitutes....(all of whom happen to be legal in Germany) kinda sad actually. not that I don't support soccer...just don't support that it supports legalized prostitution. or any type of prostiution.

thoughts?

schlaba ba ba

ok guys soooooo...it's that 6-6-6 day. dun dun DUN... :P
i'm so bored these days that i pretty much do nothing but read- which is actually nice, 'cause i havent read for simple pleasure (and not school!) in a very long time. anyone ever read those Au Pair books? haha...i'm reading the first one now. damn I wish I had a job...or money...

marry me, Landon!

p.s. I feel the need to mention that the US is ranked in the TOP 5 teams in the entire world.

Holy, freaking, crap.

No pressure, guys, you're only the best US team ever. So don't screw up.

Especially you, Mr. BoyWonder Team Captain Young One Not to Mention Good-Looking Landon Donovan.

mhm... tasty...

Germany '06, biz-atch!

OMG

4 days till the WORLD CUP!!!!

AHHHHH!!!!!

this calls for a some super special html effects... (otherwise known as the marquee- what else?!)

LANDON DONOVAN! WOO!

Not me, not Hermione, YOU.

I so have the intense X-Men music that was playing during the credits in my head.

And it's mixing with the music from the Harry Potter chess scene (in the first film).

I am so cool.

hahahaha

Ok so once I finished posting I thought I'd go back for grins and just look at some of the old posts. First of all we posted about 100 times a day...and it was pretty goofy stuff too.

But Alexa when Ms. Rameriz was asking what our website was today the first thing I thought of was the Mr. Downs post in there (the one edited by Amy)....wow how absolutely mortifying would that be if they read it.

I was going to post it (I actually went through and found it) but then I realized how absolutely horrible it really was and so I'm not reposting it....wow Amy you have an incredibly sick mind...just thought I'd throw that in there.

Ok well I've done my part in the posting for the day so the rest of ya'll need to pay up.

Peace

YAY

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Ok guys we are done...all of us have graduated. Thus begins the fifth neon summer.
